App Developers Prepare For Worst With Facebook Redesign
I’ve seen signs of developers preparing for the impending July 15th revamp for application permissions. The new permissions scheme will be incremental, meaning developers will have to ask permission to send emails or post stories at the point a user carries out an action. This may cut down on email notifications because app developers will no longer benefit from lazy users simply leaving all the permission boxes checked.
In response it appears some developers are responding. Chanin’s Compare people (a SocialMedia developer) is instead asking for the data directly and making it easy for users to provide consent to load their profile info and contact information into the application. Check out the screen shot below.
