I also heard (not sure if it's true) their lead designer for facebook used to work at microsoft - which explains their clean and sterile look

I find it appealing, and user friendly - the one thing which is lacking in UI when it comes to creating SNs platforms - and no, it doesn't look like Windows.

I did not like the new facebook but after long aggravating days and nights i can see the potential and the speed is faster. Maybe i dont even know what I am talking about..

i think it is quite the opposite
you can see what really is interesting to you
no more endless feeds no stupid apps spaming the profiles and make them horribly slow

The new facebook application is not intuitive at all. I'm a fan of the old facebok. It's messy, the layout is distracting and makes general information difficult to find on the page.
