I think there's a lot of people who “get” social media, and there's a lot of people who just don't. They're skeptical because it's so new and there are no metrics to measure. Facebook APIs for example might not have any revenue, and it's been over a year. So what do you do when the numbers are not coming in, you can't really afford the time in this economy. I'm looking forward to more of your posts and tweets on the subject.
